Frank, when you need to send out your address, PM me your address and the list of who it needs to go to and I'll send it out as a bulk lot to everyone, to save you on the 5min rule.

I'll also help you out with the polling and whatnots as well.
    Cheers

    DJ

Have been rather preoccupied with other matters, so hadn't taken much notice of this challenge.

Having read through the whole thread, count me in, I have always thought it isn't size that matters but what you do with it!

40x40x150mm sounds like a good challenge, haven't got a clue what to make with it, but have never shirked a challenge. Apart from that I have never turned olive.

As Greg has said in the previous post, I am not a timber supplier, yes I do work part time for a timber mill but only doing deliveries for them and I do have a portable sawmill that is more for my own use and the occasional milling job to earn some extra dollars. So sorry folks, I won't be donating any prizes

IAW Bob, no need for a prize. Fun to participate is enough for me.

Thank you DJ, much appreciated. Sorry about the arm twisting, I must have you mixed up with JC.

The proposed timetable has not raised any heckles, so hopefully it is about right. To take advantage of your bulk mailing offer, I suggest doing one this Thursday and maybe another one next Monday. I could then pick up the odd latecomer individually.

    BTW, welcome Big Shed.

I agree, but it looked rather important the first time around, so I did not want to depart from the formula. We learn as we go. And I'm a bit more relaxed about it all than RBTC was, ain't I?

I know nothing so I'll just be an innocent bystander. Watching with interest. I could make a trophy though. A mug with "Best thing made out of tiny block of olivewood, 2008" on it?

Thanks ma'm. What about a wooden spoon for Pat and Baz to fight over?

For our friends on the other side of the pond who want to join, Google has found you a source: http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?p...8&cookietest=1. The 1"1/2 x 1"1/2 x 6" blank they sell is virtually the same as 40x40x150 and will set you back only $6.99 US.

One full day gone without posts - have we exausted the pool of interested people?

ss_1000, BozInOz, BazzaDLB, Harry72, are you in?

With the notable exception of Underfoot, it seems that the vast majority of entrants is in the turning fraternity, not much interest from carvers and box makers. Is this just a reflection of relative numbers? Or is it that the thread buried in the general forum is not attracting their attention?
