    Default Timber questions?

I need some help please regarding timber.
    1. A friend of mine has some outdoor furniture which is being eaten by some sort of borer. What can he spray or apply to the timber to kill the borer and prevent further damage?

    2. My brother requires about 40 lineal metres of 150x25 (rough sawn) New Guinea Rosewood. He is going to get this dressed down so I suppose something smaller but dressed would be okay too. Does anyone know where we can get this timber in SE Queensland?

    Thank you

    Cheers,

Spraying with Boron will protect the timber from borers but I'm not sure it kills the ones already in the timber. I have used a plastic bag to cover pieces of timber and then let a bug bomb spray off with some success.

If you have access to dry ice and you can bag the infested items, throw a 100 gm lump of dry ice into the bag containing the furniture, tie off the bag and wait 24 hours. Everything excepting bacteria and viruses will be dead when you open the bag. Completely non toxic, works by suffocating the little monsters.
