    Default Timber Supplies in Brisbane

    Hi WWF,

I am after an ongoing supply of rough sawn timber. Does anyone know any good suppliers in Brisbane? Preferably West side near Brookfield.

Depending on what you are looking for, I have found Watts wood and mouldings in Salisbury have a great range of nice timbers and prices are reasonable.
Ken Cowden of Korora specialist timbers is supposed to be moving from Coffs Harbour to Anstead. But I'm not sure how far along that process is. Kens number is 0429488380

What species are you looking for and in what quantities?
Most of the places I know are wholesalers.
Bootle Timbers at Loganholme would be the first one that I'd try. These guys will probably deal direct with the public, as long as it's a decent quantity.
    J. Notaras and Sons had a place at Seventeen Mile Rocks, but last time I went past they were gone. Not sure if they re-located or just shut down.
Hurfords at Yatala could be worth a try, but will really sting you for small quantities.

Bootle in Loganholme are great to deal with but unfortunately you can't really select your boards, you get what you get. Watts wood in Salisbury is pretty good as well and they have a rack section where boards are on display if you want to pick and choose or just need a board or two. Garde Timber in Moorooka will also sell you a board or two and they have quite a few slabs on display.

The marketplace on these forums and Gumtree are also good but obviously won't be as consistently available as the timber merchants.

    Default Timber Supplies in Brisbane

Bootle’s has been suggested by a number of sources on this forum and elsewhere. Unfortunately they aren’t open on Saturday’s.

Stumbled across Matthews Timber who seem good and will, on special request, allow pickups on Saturday.
