tool shipping blues!!
I have a chance to buy some second hand tools, this is the good news. I phoned some couriers and they want $400.00 to ship 100lb box from washington state to winnipeg Canada, that would be the bad news.
Does any body know of a ground freight option that can do this for a reasonable price.
Cheers Ron

I just checked with FedEx.
100 pounds, from Zip 98101 to PC R3C1A3 was less than $80, home delivery, International Ground service. Valuation was $100 and if you need to increase (up to $500) it is about 1% of the valuation.
If you go above $500 things may get ugly with Canadian customs. I know that some years ago I had a secratary ship some electronic equipment to my customer in Edmonton. She used the only form that was available and the maximum value allowed was $500. My customer was delighted as it went through with almost no duty assessed.
