Traditional Method of Making Crown Moulding
Im wondering if anyone can offer a suggestion as to how to produce crown moulding for the top of a bookshelf, without using modern power tools ? i.e. mitre/tablesaw.
People were doing it hundreds of years ago without power, and Im really curious what sort of tools they would have used. Have found no information about it online, or any of the books I have.
Any pointers much appreciated !

Welcome aboard.
We have an expat member here, originally from you neck of the woods, who reproduces extraordinary stuff by traditional methods. Check out his thread on https://www.woodworkforums.com/f187/m...abinet-113031/
BTW. Haven't seen Woodwould around lately, I hope he is OK.

I did a quick search and it's easier to find info on making moulding planes than actually using them to make mouldings.
Cheers, Bill

Thats great, thanks for the info and link to that post. It seems like wooden moulding planes are what Im after. There is a slim chance I actually have one in a box of old tools I got from my dad as well so will have to investigate further.
