trailer base
building an enclosed trailer somewhere between horse float and box. It will finish up being a mobile display/market shop thing.
Thinking of the base I would prefer timber so then think plywood.
But do I need marine ply when to my ignorant thinking formply or something around 19mm thick with plenty of bitumen underneath and sikaflex on all joins would be OK.I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

Structural ply or form ply will do the job. They both have the same glue as marine ply, only marine ply uses veneers made from marine borer resistant timbers.

Former neighbours did this about two years ago, and they were amazed about how much government red tape was involved. Didn't really listen to their constant whinging, but it seems to be a highly regulated area.

I agree Graeme, and in SA from next July homemade trailers will no longer be able registered. Thats why I now own 6 trailer rego plates and as long as I rebuild something similar and have matching rego & VI(N plates it will not need to be re registered.
The one I am planning used to be a single horse float, all registered etc etc and the inmates at her majesty's prison are building the metal frame for me $10/hour and fully qualified.I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

I have lined my 8x5 box trailer with form ply because it is easier to shovel out of and clean. My trailer has a chequer plate floor which is painful to use
