    Default Should I or shouldn't I

I wasn't sure whether to put this here or the tablesaw section, but I will try here first.
I have just completed a sled for my tablesaw and I am unsure whether I should coat it with anything or just leave it bare.
    What do others do?

    Thanks,
    Dallas

Dallas, would depend somewhat on what the sled is made from.

But I would just seal it with either a shellac based sanding sealer or a poly based sanding sealer, then apply a wax like Ubeauts Traditional Wax.
That should suffice on MDF, but plywood probably an extra coat of shellac or varnish before the wax.

I like my jigs n fixtures to be raw. they arent slippery to handle, and they dont leave behind residue on the table surface.

I dont bother finishing jigs unless mdf is used then I use any poly I have left on the shelf just to help prevent it taking up moisture and swelling. A rub of wax on the runners is good too.
