18th November 2005, 08:01 PM #31What blades should I get? It apparently comes with 15.8mm blade, I'd guess I should get something wider for ripping the logs, and something narrower for doing fine curves...
I also have a 1/2" 3TPI for general cutting and a 1/4" 6TPI for really tight turns though I haven't needed to use the last one yet.
Probably the closest place to get these would be Norwood saw works, Charles street Norwood.
One thing to remember is don't leave the 1" blade on the machine after you have finished you ripping, it's a fairly tight circle for this blade and you will get a longer life out of it if you take it off afterwords.
It does take some time to set up the saw, making sure the two wheels are coplaner and table is level, also setting up the blade guides top and bottom.
AS for a DC, I would recomend a economy 2HP unit, anything smaller you will regret when you get around to getting things like jointers and thicknessers.
