    Default The Trees.

    Hi All,
    Just been watching Landline ABC, & today they were Talking & showing a " Oil Mallee Tree " & I got to wondering if anybody has Worked or Turned this wood.
    Seen quite a bit of it laying on the ground, & wood be OK for TTIT & myself as we do Turn Small Stuff, as the branches we not very big.
    Wood we have trouble with Sanding this wood, if it is so Oily.

    i have used the mallee root before...i have got 2 mallee roots sitting in my shed waiting for when i get my lathe setup to turn a couple of bowls....it has amazing figure in the root....

    I think the oil is in the leaves, the tree being used as a source for extracting Eucalyptus oil.
