best way to trim windows and doors JAMMING
HI,
Some of my windows catch when opening and closing so too do the doors.
Is a small hand plane the best way to trim back the edge of the window and door?
If so.. are ther any good online videos that demostrate how to use the plane for this?

On the doors... Assuming that the doors are installed in a building of sorts.
Remove one of the screws that go into the door jamb from the highest hinge. Reolace the screw with one 3 to 4 inches (75MM to 100MM) in length. Use this screw to pull the door jamb back into alignment. This trick will pull the top of the door (opposite the hinges) away from the jamb and lift bottom of the door.
Of course if the building has settled significantly, using a plane to refit the door may be necessary.

Thanks for that tip - good one.
Would you use a small hand plane if required? Any web sites that you know of that would be good to learn how to use?
