    Default Troubles with Mitre saw(909)

Howdy doody guys, Im having a few troubles with my 909 mitre saw, It seems that even though i have everything on zero im still getting a pretty decent angle on the timber i have been cutting, To date all i have made is a couple of shelves and a bench out of 70x40 pine. Now the blade is only about 1 or 2 mm away from the guard on the table, so i have stopped using it all together.

Could it possibly just be a crappy blade or something worse? Sorry if its a dumb question its my first ever drop saw.

It sounds more like an alignment issue than the blade. Is the saw new and could it have been dropped?

Well the saw is only maybe 3-4 months old and for the most of it it has been sitting idle. I haven't dropped it.

    Hi Lure,

It definitely sounds like an alignment issue. Does your manual give you any instructions regarding realignment procedures? You can quickly check whether the alignment is right by placing a square edge against the fence with the other side along the blade. Should be straight on both arms. If not, you may need to adjust the scale on the base to give you a 90 degree angle. Be sure to check that the 45 degree angle is still 45 degrees afterwards.
If it was a wonky blade, I think you'd feel it vibrating during a cut.

    Regards,

    Rob

Jord has done a review of this saw in the review section, you might want to PM him, he seems to know how to adjust one
