After the TS purchase what to buy next?
Hi fellow dreamers.
After having dreamt of Step 1; my $2,500 to $3,500 Tablesaw purchase, I am at a quandrey as to which glorious piece of woodworking machinery, I should now direct my subconscious to buy next, as Step 2 - with the illusory "crosslotto" winnings, that I will win on Saturday night!
Then there's Step 3...4...5... and so on, along my noctunal journey, searching for the ideal path of procurement, to attain possession of that ultimate, quality workshop inventory, that we all aspire to!
Is their a "Sigmund Freud" out their in 'woodworkers-land' who would lead a benign beginner, down the path of mechanical rightousness.
What next?
Waiting in eternal anticipation
Brenton

If you spend too much time & energy in the workshop, you'll never have any time or energy left for anything else you may want to get intoBruce C.

On a serious note,
does the jointer take 'precedence of purchase' over the thicknesser?
Cheers Brenton

Since we are spending imaginary money you will need to purchase in order
1) a jointer with a 12 inch table.
2) a 3 phase 500mm planner with digital read out
If you thickness twisted timber what you get is thinner twisted timber so the jointer comes first.

My friend who is a shopfitter just bought two new panel saws, he is elated that he got them for a song, only $90k each.
As a consequence he now has two, two year old panel saws for sale complete with scribing blades.
Any offers over $40k considered, these are bargains he assures me (the new ones are computer controlled) and if you wish I will forward you his telephone number (reasonable commission rates too)
They are relatively compact at only about 5m long.

Dear BJN,
In yesterdays post you were advised to purchase a 12 inch jointer and a 3 phase 500mm digital read out thicknesser. You should have attended to that by now. So your task for today (or tonights dreams) is to get a good spindle molder. You should be able to get a reasonable one for around $10 000.
