Urgent help needed - flood victim
Many would know Richard Vaughan who is pretty well known in the wood working community.
I just popped into Richard's workshop in Spine St, Summner Park in Brisbane and it has been completley wiped out.
I will be heading down to help Richard on Saturday and I am putting out the call to all woodworkers to lend a hand. He needs an army of helpers as he is doing mostly by himself and as you would all well know, putting a workshop back together is a massive task.
If you are keen to lend a hand please PM or call me on 0419 596 465 me so that I can advise him of numbers etc
Any help would be appreciated especially those who can put heavy machinery back together.
Cheers
Bryan

Good on you for organising the team to help Richard.
If I lived a bit closer I would put my hand up. I hope it goes well.

I don't know how you got that he is doing mostly by himself, he has had a veritable army out there since day one, I know as I have been one of them. That said good on you
Cheers

Hi All
I just got back from Richards workshop and I posted this thread after I got home the first time I stopped by, I went back to get stuck in, there is a mountain of work still to do.
Richard would be very gratefull for any volunteers that could lend a hand however he we like a co-ordinated approach. So please don't just turn up......saying that in the nicest possible way.
He has a huge rack full of wood that needs the ends sealed and then repacked outside and then be gurneed off. Trust me it will be a big job and my hope is that we can get about 5 blokes together to lend a hand when the time comes.
So if you can spare an hour or a day and are willing to help Richard get back on his feet quicker then please email or call me and we can co-ordinate a day when we can get in there and get stuck in.
One thing I have learnt from this flood crisis is that the small business owners are the ones that need some of the most help....Richards business is no different.
From what he told me today he is so very gratefull and touched by all the help he has recieved from the woodworking community but trust me there is still aways to go.
If you are keen get in touch.
Cheers
Bryan
P.S Sorry I was so shocked when I first saw the carnage I thought he was doing it all by himself but when I went back down there he told me about all the great help he had recieved!
