We've had our vacuum bag and pump fo a couple of months now and have found it to be a very usefull press/clamp system. Yesterday we laminated several lengths of 125x30 jarrah and some 175x30 jarrah to make 60mm thick sections. I hand picked dead straight 2700 lengths and we glued them with WEST systems and laid all the pairs of boards out flat in the bag.

After an aborted first attempt due to boards slipping sideways, we sorted that out, sealed the bag and turned the pump back on.
The usual oohs and aahs as we watched the top boards squeeze down tight and the resin bubbled out of the joints and up through any tiny birds eyes in the boards.
Then we watched on in amazement as the bag just bowed the pair of 125x30 boards that were on the outer left like they were pine! Bowed across their width that is, then the pair of 175x30's on the outer right did exactly the same. They stayed perfectly flat, just bowed across the width by about 50mm!! If you supported a 2700x175x30 on edge at both ends I reckon you would need several hefty adults to bow the board by 50mm.

Anyone else had any cool things occur while using vacuum bags?
