Default Vacuum Laminating Setup - Can't Spend Much

    Hi All,

I'm looking to make up a small vacuum forming setup. I want to make some small scale (1:10 or so) bent ply chairs as an experiment (after I draw up and model in 3D (Blender). I was going to scrounge some old MDF for the blocks and use cardboard as a material for now.

What I'm after is recommendation for a pump and bags. I have heard fridge pumps might work. Bags are cheapish anyway I thing and the scale I'm going with the kitchen style bags on a roll might even work.

I am on reduced working hours so have time to run around a couple of days a week.

    Any tips.

You can get a vacuum pump new online for $100, so maybe second hand would be viable? I stuffed around with fridge pumps, didn't think it worth effort in the end.
I did a lot of research about using bleed off valves to control the vacuum etc, but in the end just ran a hose straight fro the pump to the bag
I was laminating 6mm timber onto EPS.
    God luck with it.
