    Default Could you use these in various woodwork jigs & tools

    Hey,

    Just saw a page by a metalwork chap who used one of these digital gauges to help make a tool - available here for $5.73 and free postage in Australia

    Looks looks the same electronic module as used on digital verniers, but I can see how it could be used for homemade tools. Clever thinking.

    Interesting, I was looking at this style digital probe, but they're closer to $40 landed:

    I'm trying to figure out what the second smaller cover exposes on the model you posted, the main cover is the battery obviously, the smaller one almost looks like a port, usb, memory card? I can't imagine what use it would have, for $6 I'll grab one and see if I can figure it out. I wonder if the gauge is spring loaded, probably not but it'd be perfect if it was.

    Could also be paired with a magnetic base/arm arrangement like these for about $40: Magnetic Base Holder USE FOR Digital Level Dial Test Indicator Gauge | eBay
