veneer preparation ?
this forum and the internet provides heaps of information of how to use veneer but what steps do you take from purchasing the raw crinkly veneer to being able to glue it to substrate ?
i'm thinking it gets misted/ damped and when the water has soaked in, is clamped between a couple of pieces of melamine until flat and dry and is then able to be worked on.
i purchased a small amount to experiment as feature lid to huon pine box so would be interested in what the correct steps are to prepare for gluing.
i intend to glue the prepared veneer to both sides of 3mm mdf using PVA+, alternatively I have some two pack mix with water add hardner type stuff but that might be an overkill ?
thanks
