    Default Veneer question

The other half inherited this glass buffet thing last year and we've just noticed that a piece of veneer has come off. Unable to locate the missing piece of veneer, could anyone hazard a guess as to what sort of timber it is? Also, how could this be fixed if we could locate a piece of veneer? Thanks in advance.

I'd hazard a guess and say Qld. Walnut that has been stained.

    Easy answer contact cement.
Proper way possibly hide glues and a caul to hold it in place.

I suspect matching the colour would be the most challenging part.

    Cheers

Scott, if you can take of a door, drawer or lid then I would take it to

Peter Scott-Young Veneers at 37 Alexandra Rd Ringwood East VIC 3135 Tel:9870 8733 for an opinion and possible matching of veneer.

Never been there myself, notwithstanding it's a hop, step and jump away from me , so I would ring to make an appointment first.

He stocks a large range and I've never heard a bad report from him so I would be happy to rely on his professional judgment.

    Peter.

PS If you're going there call in for a cuppa.

When you come from Plenty and have to go to Ringwood East you have to go through Donvale so there is no excuse not to call in. Just pm me when.
