Thread: Viable breadboard alternative?

Guys, I have another question after trying to get more information.
I totally agree with the idea that unsupported tabletops will sag, but how about popular designs like shaker style furniture that also have long unsupported parts of the tabletop with even thinner wood thickness.
How do these tabletops hold up against sagging or warping? I can't believe that the stretcher alone takes care of that.

One more thing that I found.
By using the following calculator to determine sag in shelves, I put my table's values in and get less than 0.01cm sag for 100cm unsupported length with 4cm thick boards.
I guess thats good enough for my purposes.

Alex i love the table design I wouldnt worry about sag if its 1400mm x 50mm thick. It just wont happen.
