Vic Marc cbn wheel bush
Stupid question but does it matter which way the bushes go onto the cbn wheel?
One is the actual bush and the other is a fat nut - does it matter which goes towards the grinder?

Thanks so it appears that the arbor is quite short and I can have the bush on but not the thick washer. Do you think it's OK to use the stock washer?

I couldnt get onto vicmarc today but asked timberbits and they said the fat washer is for their own grinder which has a long arbor and its ok to use the waster that came with the grinder

Perfectly fine to use stock washer, just make sure your washer is true and wheel is running true and you're good to go. Also fine to have excess threads provided the nut doesn't bottom out, when it does you won't get enough torque on the wheel to secure it

How can I tell if the wheel is running true? If its not, how would I correct that?

If it’s not running true you use a self aligning washer like this.

If it's vibrating, wobbles, visibly moves up and down then it's not true. This could also be caused by your grinder or if the shaft is bent.

The number one reason the generic Asian grinders shake is the poor tolerances between the shaft thread and the nut thread. This causes the nut to tighten and not be straight and parallel to the shaft axis. The wobble washers fix this problem properly, I tried using steel machined bushes and it still did not sort it out and the wobble washer did.
