VL300
G'day everyone,
M Vimarc VL300 2003 model, the green on button has to be held in to engage the motor. I have tried blowing with compressed air in, behind and around the button and checked the wires from the button itself which are colored purple and black, they seem fine. I recently had problems with the potentiometer until I cleaned it out and had no further problems with it. Everything else runs brilliantly as you would expect from a Vicmarc. Has anybody else had similar problems? if you have I would really appreciate some advice.
Thankyou in advance
Andy.

Andy it would be easier to give Vicamrc a call and get the right advice from the people who know.
You have done the cleaning part now it sounds like you will need parts.Jim Carroll

My experience with this is don't mess about trying to fix what sounds like a dodgy switch, get a new one. It's not worth getting zapped over.

Just an update if anyone comes across this issue. Pay particular attention to the microswitch attached to the big red stop bar. After blowing out all other switches and checking wiring etc to no avail I turned my attention to the above microswitch. I gave this switch the same treatment as all others and now I have had no further problems with the operation of my lathe. This switch must have had a build up of fine dust on the contacts and the internals and not releasing properly.
Regards
Andy..

Good result , keep turning
Do you use the knee bar very often or not at all.
I am assuming not at all with the build up of dust ?Jim Carroll

Beat me to it, I have a VL300SB EVS & I have had the same problem, bouncing the knee stop bar a couple of times usually fixes it.
Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.
