    Default Wall Mounted Wine Rack

Made from offcuts, mainly. I had a 720mm length of 235 x 19 DAR and always have 90mm lying around. Along with some 22 x 19, they pretty much auto-suggested a use for themselves: a six-bottle/six glass wine rack.

    Measurements are 720 (L) x 235 (H) x 109 (D + 19mm for the rails). The gap between the two shelves is 19mm.

Cutting the slots in the bottom shelf for the wineglass stems, I marked 100mm centres 45mm back from the front edge, then used a 12mm spade bit to drill holes to suit my glass stems. I had to make a bevel by ‘lathing’ a taper on a 25mm dia pine cut-out held in my drill chuck with a bolt. Pasting 80 grit, then 240 onto my new recessing tool worked well to create the recesses for glass security. To effect the cutout slots, the shelves were marked with pencil lines then set on edge for careful cutting.

This is the almost finished rack, dry assembled, still to be dismantled and sanded ready for final wet assembly by the old chaps I work with at a nursing home.
