At first use, I discovered a problem with the Oshlun 6” stack dado set from Rockler.

I noted 6 of 8 shims are engraved with the wrong thickness, one that does not match the description on the box. I confirmed this using a digital caliper. The shims for the 0.010” are correctly labelled. The other shims are labelled 0.05”, 0.15”, and 0.20”, but they should be labelled 0.005”, 0.015”, and 0.020”. These are off by a factor of 10! When labeling the shims, the manufacturer made an easy mistake and placed the decimal point in the wrong position, and their QC never discovered this error.

I contacted OSHLUN and they told me they have never heard this problem before. They promised to mail me a new set of shims and to check their thickness and labelling with a caliper before sending. Here's hoping....
