Then if you want Wattyl why not get it from the Wattyl store. We have a few here in Sydney not so sure about your location.

It's all about making bigger profits Jethrow. Wattyl is Australian owned and made and IMO make the best quality and therefore the cheapest in the long run. Bunnies are big on Nippon paints made in Singapore.

    Buy local & think global.

Last time I looked, Bunnings had ceased selling Nippon paints also.

Bunnings are running scared. Woolies is starting "Masters" as there own stile fo store.

Nippon paint was not good and not suited so well to teh aussie market. And bunnings were bringing it in themselves so they can control teh market. If no one else stocks teh same brand / model they don't have to honour the 10% off guarantee

Wattyl are going to be a main supplier to Masters so Bunnings gave them teh flick (Littlle boy having a hissy fit and taking his ball and going home)

I tried some of the Nippon paint some time ago but did not take long to go back to Dulux, Taubmans etc.

I am looking forward to Masters opening. One of their stores is nearing completion not too far away from me and they look like they are not far from opening.

Quite normal for hardware stores to change suppliers, or even the way they sell an item.
If it is not moving or the margin too small, change the packaging so the consumer needs to buy more. If a different supplier can cut the bottom line there will be a $ in it.

Just makes it hard when you go back to get the same item again.

    Hi all

I think you will find that Wattyl has been taken over by an American company,

Going to be fun near us. (Caroline Springs/Burnside in outer west of Melbourne.)

Bunnings opened a new store about 4 months ago, and what is going up straight across the road, Masters.

The new Masters at Tingalpa in Brisbane is quite close to Carba-Tec. I suspect that Carba-Tec will get a surge of business after the Masters store opens from blokes who will make the drive over that way to have a gander at the new Masters' store and who will take the opportunity to pop into Carba-Tec whilst they are in the area.

The newish Carba-Tec store is now not so centrally located in Brissy as their old one was so I reckon that a lot of people might see that for the first time also when they visit Masters.

Nice suggestion Christos...........Buy no Wattyl Ssore in Mudgee there may be one in Dubbo or Orange but there 1 1/4 and 2 hours away.
The main gripe ive got is of course Price without the competition in Mudgee I am now forced to pay between 10 and 15 +% for my Wattyl products.
At present im searching the net for alternatives.
If all else fails ill probably source it from Dubbo in larger qty buys. PIA

Good luck to you easteners. Poor old S.A. on the bottom of the list again. Same as Aldi, Masters will not be here till I retire.

Well, that is when you will really need it of course.

I have been retired about five years and sometimes I go to Bunnings three times in a week.

Sorry Mick but Bunnings have now dropped Nippon as well as Wattyl. Obviously Bunnings couldn't give a damn about customer service and, because they have such a monopoly in the hardware game, they are treating the public with total contempt and couldn't care less about the problems they are causing. Hopefully Woolworths entry into the hardware game may give Bunnings the kick up the bum that they deserve.

BUNNING the store we love to hate.
