Wax on, Wax off?
I just got a good size order of wood in that I bought off Ebay and the stuff is all coated in wax.
How do you remove the wax without messing up the wood?
I have a real nice piece of maple burl that I got waxed and I put it in the oven at 150 and the wax melted off but the wood block cracked a little. it'll still be fine for what I want to use it for, just have to send it off for stabilizing first.
I want to glue some of this wood together so i need to get the glue completely out of the wood.
Thanks for your help!!!Take care!!
Michael

For turning blanks I just mount the and turn it off. For other slabs, I 'll scrape it of with a scraper or if it only an inch cut it off.

Ah.. Daniel san..
If the pieces will fit, put them in the freezer/chest freezer for a few minutes. The wax will become very brittle for a short time and should come off easier.

We have a freezer in the garage that's not in use right now so I'll just plug it up and put all the wood in it.
Thanks for the tip Marginata!!!!!Take care!!

Michael, just don't leave the wood in there too long. Just a few minutes.
