    DJ,

    You already have a saw

    KevM,

I haven't sealed it yet. It is only 3 weeks since it was poured and still giving up a bit of moisture. I will seal it after a couple of months.

    artme,

Most sheds here are done slab first too. I wanted a good seal around the walls so decided to do it this way. Also the the wildlife around here are prolific at night so I didn't want foot prints all through it the next morning

It is certainly bigger than my last shed but we have the space so why not? I'm sure I will fill it quickly enough with my woodwork tools.

    funkychicken,

My mate and I will be throwing up a few fluoros and GPOs in the next couple of days. That will enable me to start using everything apart from the saw and thicknessner/planer. I want them properly set up but that might be done in the next few weeks when the Felder bloke is down this way.

    DJ,

I'm not so sure it is a bandsaw because the writing on it suggests it can be used to bang nails into timber.

When I connect the power (it has a power cord) I will perform some tests to determine what it really does.

    Rob,

I think you've been diddled, that Hammer thingo looks nothing like a hammer tell you what, I'll swap a very nicely balanced hammer for that contraption you've got. Besdies, yours has a power cord and I don't want to see you being confused with too things that need power cords - mine is enviromentally power and bush friendly.

    Chris,

If you can get here before before 11PM tonight I will gladly swap you.

Would you prefer a hot drink or a beer when you get here?

(He's originally from QLD and hasn't got too much of a clue where I live)

    Which one Jake?

    I have a saw/spindle mould plus a planer/thicknesser.

I can't wait to fire them up.

the saw spindle. the computer was playing up so must have missed the planer pics.

    congrats mate. sounds really exciting.

I got my shed up recently too. bit smaller than yours. 9x10...kicking myself I didn't do what you did by pouring the cement afterwards.

    Jake,

A few people have commented that the order of building then pouring is unusual etc.

It is more awkward and therefore more expensive because the concrete has to barrowed which increases the cost. Lots of sheds are built by professionals who build them bearing in mind efficiency (time/effort) for the builder. I was thinking more about the users of the shed - my tools ,my machines, my timber and me.

I built the shed to be the best for my woodwork so a little bit of extra $$$'s here and there now will not be missed in the future however money saving/time saving shortcuts will be a constant reminder and a reason to kick myself daily - if only I had ......

    That was my thinking anyway.
