    A thought on the torsion box idea.
    Instead of internal honeycomb bracing use foam glued to top and bottom ply.
    Another thought you could use solid timber appropriately rebated and shaped for a front edge to your seat.
    I agree birch ply is the material to use.

    Hey mate. Foam glued.. As the structure for the honeycomb? Or foam glued to the underside topside of the plywood then the honeycomb installed? Thanks for the assistance BTW.

    As the honey comb between the ply the top is made from.

    Out of foam? So build the torsion box section OUT of foam? Serious? Fair enough. I'll take that into consideration... Thnks mate.
