Its definitely not a makita and its not a Simonds but it cuts.
Oh and its not my hat either, it's a girls hat, it's Jade's hat (but ii we are quiet she may not notice). That was as far as we got last night. Good thing its not a paying job lol, its kinda dragging it's feet.

With various interruptions and other things needing tending to I am finally making some progress.
This should have been no more than a couple hours work if I had my own tools or at least a good basic lot of tools and under normal conditions but it will get there

That is I think the problem we all find when we are on the road or visiting someone. You miss your own tools and very often what they have is barely adequate for the job. What you lack in tools here you are making up with your skills and doing it for love.
Progress is being made and soon you will have it finished.

Well wall is up and now to sheet. No joy with the lining boards being made in time so just MDF and perhaps an upgrade on a future trip. You will note a slight curve in the floor
I decided to trim to the floor and join on the noggings. They tell me there was a time all timber was cut by hand and that it did not even come in sheet form. Did you know they didnt even have molded plastic handles in the old days

Thanks Ray. I did try them but there was nothing to suit. Will try again next time I'm up
This is a bit a further progress shot
Trying to scribe to wall and floor
For a hand saw and a coping saw that happened to be in the car still I'm quite pleased

The person who never made a mistake never made anything

Pics are working again now. There was the other side of the door qay still to do
That wall is not straight
Bit of a challenge cutting such a cròoked line with a handsaw
But got it done and time to clean up
Everyone is helping, Raechell and the kids
And i did get the door hung.
Still need a lock and the third hinge

And now ... it's all pulled apart as a new chapter starts for my SIL (do I still call her that)
The wall is down again. Another memory that will live on here where I may cone for a visit
The place is getting cleaned up to rent out. All signs of that wall removed.
There was another wall, a wall I never saw but i know it was there. The paint tells a story
Once upon a time the top of the stair case was closed in. Perhaps an attempt at climate control. This was the only room upstairs before my SIL did the extention.
My job to sand the walls and ceiling ready to paint. Hoefully todo so to conceal all signs of past work. It is only a wuick job so cant put so much onto it but the obvious tells will be gone.
There was thick ridges of paint across the ceiling following the ild wall. The 'V' joinys had been filled upto the wall on either side so have cleaned them out
Once filled and oainted again it should all look good.
Might try and dand that out a bit too
