Some more pics of potting bench.
I didn't have enough wood from the skip to finish the bottom shelf on the right.
But I do have some cypress pine offcuts from when I made some large Versailles style planters a couple years ago.
They should be fine for that shelf.

The last pic is Mr. Magpie who is the male of a pair that frequent our backyard, along with Mrs. M and their two offspring.
He gave it the once over.
Just need to move it into position now.
And Im not sure if it will be oiled and left to go grey or painted.
Thats up to the recipient who will advise.

    Cheers

I'm sure Mrs mattocks will be very pleased. Did you glue all the slats in where the clamps are?

Yes all the panels are glued in.
    I used Titebond III.
Ive used it before outside on 5 very large planter boxes with good results.

    Default potting bench finished

The potting bench I made has been finished and is in its position ready to be used.
I estimate the cost to be well under $100.
Julie decided she wanted it painted. The paint was $60 and by far the most expensive part.
We had a paint brush which can still be used again.
    I also bought a 2400mm length of treated pine 145 x 19 which was $9.
I attached this to the rear of the top with a 75m overhang as the pavers wouldn't allow the bench to sit flush against the shed wall.
Now it does with this attached and will stop small items falling down behind it.
I had the glue and the dominos I used so there is a cost there of course.
Also the time I took to make it has value, but as I said originally, this is my hobby.
I do it for the enjoyment and being able to produce items of use.
    Julie is thrilled with it.

    Thanks for watching.

That ended up looking very nice, and the dark stain looks good against the brickwork.
I now have to replace a panel / board in the top of the one I built. SWMBO was standing on it the other day putting shadecloth up over the steel framed shade house that I built her (from mining surplus drill rods).
I heard a "snap" and she had gone through the top of the bench. I was very careful in what I said when this happened.

That's come up a treat. That dark grey goes well with so many things.
