WIP - The Small Shed
I was asking about ductwork in little while ago for my new secondary shed which’ll house the DE. So here goes, I had 2 m3 of road base delivered this morning to level out the site pic’s 1 & 2.<o>
</o>However I’ve skewed the shed plan and moved it up the slope which needed another 2 m3 delivered an hour later –oppps – pics 3 & 4.<o>
</o>Need to do the fine leveling and borrow my brother’s wacker-packer to settle everything. Shed has been ordered and’ll be here in 3 weeks so plenty of time to shutter up and get the concrete in.<o>
</o>Spot the hole in the drive way? Just when you think you’ve budgeted for everything. The bl**dy water mains busts over night last weekend.:eek::eek::eek:
PS: Neil - how about a sheds section??Fantastic cheese Grommit!!

Size matters
Major, sir - Shed is going to be a Titon 3 x 3 x 2m high (walls) "tool shed" with trussed roof to match existing. It's main (or mine) intention is to house the compressor and dusty to remove noise and "fine dust" out of main shed but also to relocate all that "stuff" that hardly gets used but you need to have. Subject to how much I stuff in there it might act as a spray booth but I recon' they'll be little room after the fit out??

Also this will block view from road so give me a bit more privacy.Fantastic cheese Grommit!!

Murphies law
Well I really wasn’t expecting yesterday to be any different than the last 3 weeks i.e. “what could go wrong – would go wrong” Here’s the list so far <o></o>
- Water mains blows hole in driveway
- PC crashes and burns (almost) in the middle of a project of a client
- Buy notebook to cover while above is repaired
- Vehicle springs multiple fuel leaks at multiple times
- Need to hire car to cover above
- “New” notebook motherboard – gives up the ghost
- Client’s new project on notebook?
- Need notebook for client’s presentation Thursday
- Will I get notebook back by Wednesday (pigs'll fly)
- Still waiting for driveway to be repaired
<o></o>
Alls good at moment, rain stopped cool and overcast – great weather for laying concrete. Truck arrived and it started p*ssing it down but easy job with such a small slab, rain eased off and we had it finished like a babies bum by 10:00 am. Ran the float over at 11:00 am lookin good – final float 12:30 pm b*gger – 30 minutes too late – messed surface up ever so slightly. Rain came down again – b*gger – cover slab with poly sheeting. You could feel the sheeting stick/drag on tacky surface – b*gger.
<o></o>
This morning –remove sheeting from slab and yes – surface marked/pocketed where sheeting had caught – b**** (you know by now). It actually isn’t too bad and wouldn’t be a major job to float with some self leveling screed but I’ll wait and get shed up first before worrying about that minor flaw.
<o></o>
A few bags of premixed concrete are needed to finish surrounding plinth.

Looking good so far. Why didn't you go for a bigger shed and then make the original the smaller one for storage ?
I convinced my wife one shed was all i would need (25ft x 40ft x 10ft)
I now have her convinced i need a 20 x 20 up the back of the block for storage of stuff i don't want in the main shed.

Swift - kept to a small shed to avoid planning permission and to be honest anything larger would be an overkill.
Doug - spray booth idea was a "thow-away" comment. Unlikely I would do this but if I did I would have to clean out small shed of all dust and DE before starting job. Main idea remains - leave compressor in small shed - isolate noise and spray in larger shed but still making sure shed No 2 is dust free-sh.Fantastic cheese Grommit!!

Framing
Late yesterday afternoon I spent an hour drilling and chemsetting anchors for two sides. This morning I did the other two sides and screwed up the wall frames, trusses and purlins. Would like to start the sheeting but other jobs call – hopefully I’ll start this next weekend.
