Wixey digital table saw readout
Hi
I am considering buying a Wixey readout for my saw, does anyone own one or know much about them?
I was thinking of even buying parts from the UK as you can get the readout and the tape for about half the price here.
I would have to machine up a track to match but any advice is appreciated. I only have a medium sized table saw.
Thanks Neil

I should add that I would be willing to buy a readout if someone is thinking of selling

Yes, I have one, best thing since sliced bread, wouldn't be without it.
If you do a search on Wixey on this forum you will get a lot of hits, happy reading.

I purchased one a few years ago and just got around to installing it. All I can say is wow! It's so accurate and easy to calibrate. I needed some very accurate cuts made just recently and it certainly didn't let me down.
Highly recommended!

I too am a happy user. Easy to install and easy to use. I would have loved an Incra fence but am more than happy to settle with the Wixey given the difference in price.
Mine came from the States as I was ordering some other stuff at the time and was able to have a few things sent to a friend and then bundled up and sent over. Postage was a little high due to the track.
Personally I would make sure that I got the track at the same time. Whilst if you had the time, machinery and skills you may be able to make it yourself but I would question the value. The track would need to be spot on as the readout slides along the track and it is also recessed to house the strip. I would also think that you need a track to copy from.
Cheers

I've got a Wixey TS guide. I think it is pretty good. But not perfect. I bought an incra. One day I'll even install it and be in a better position to say if the Incra was worth the extra money.
Making your own track would be difficult - it'd have to be super accurate. Look on Amazon, it's often a better price, even with shipping.

Yep, I am also a happy user. It was a bastard to install on my Dewalt Job Site Table Saw, but well worth the effort. Accuracy is terrific and its worth the $$. I also got mine from the US.
Cheers
