Wood gunstock question
I'm not sure if this question fits the forum, but I thought I'd give it a shot:
I've got an old Yugoslav rifle that's billed as having a teak stock. Since teak is (I believe) a tropical hardwood, I'm a bit skeptical about this claim. Is teak noticeably different than, say, birch or beech with regard to appearance?

yep, well from my experience anyway.
Teak usually produces a fine rather orange dust when sanded and will most likly clog the abrasive paper as it is an oily tmber.
Birch and beech on the other hand produce a rather pale coloured almost white dust and ain't oily like teak...
Cheers...
SHane...
PS. Whats it matter anyway, the deer & pigs still look the same through the cross hairs!!! Mwahahahaha...

I think the Teak should also be a good deal heavier.
