    Default Wooden longbow finished

    Howdy all,

Finished this longbow last week, and only just got the piccies.

It's another Sydney Blue gum longow, with a bamboo backing.

    Vital statistics:

    30#@ 28"
    5 1/2" brace from back
    69"ntn
1 1/2" wide limbs tapering to under 1/2" nocks
bamboo backing: 3mm thick, 1" wide, which makes for an interesting
effect on the back, with the bow being wider than 1"!
    under 1" set after unstringing.
the finish is used cooking oil.

It was going to be heavier. Maybe 45-50lb. But then I needed some money, so offered it for sale. They guy who expressed interest in it only wanted 30#, so I cut it narrower, down to the current width.

It shoots great. Some arrows giuven to me by a mate are perfect for it. At 15m three arrows were touching each other, stuck in the same hole!

Some of the pictures aren't terribly good, and there are some really bad ones in there too!
