Wooden Screw end vice
For a while now I've been thinking about an big vice at the end of my bench, but I don't have much money to spend on the parts, and little patience for the complicated mechanics that seem to make up the bigger vice parts.
So then I found some threads on wooden threaded screws used to make big vices, like this one, for instance. I figure if its good enough for Woodwould, it'll keep me happy for a long while.
The simplicity appeals to me, and I figure it'll be relatively straightforward to transfer to a new bench when I get around to building another one.
Problem is, I have no intention of learning how to produce a wooden screw, so I need to buy a couple from somewhere. Does anyone know of a supplier?
Here's the bench I'm using. I think I can cut one end down to fit the end vice to.Cheers, Richard

This is the style of vice I'm after, but with wooden screws rather than metal parts. (With credit to whoevers bench it is - I saved the picture, but not the thread - if its yours let me know and I'll credit you!) EDIT - Thanks, Glennet!
Cheers, Richard
