The Woodsmith Pty Ltd AKA Rustin's Australia
The Woodsmith Pty Ltd AKA Rustin's Australia do they still exist?
I went past their listed address 35 Lusher Rd, Croydon Vic 3136 yesterday and couldn't find them it appears a child play centre is where they should have been.
No luck on the phone yesterday or today either just rings out.…..Live a Quiet Life & Work with your Hands

It's now primarily a mail order business and they might still be on holidays.
From memory, from the time they still sold face to face, you had to drive down the driveway to get to their small factory building and could not be seen from the road as you drove past.

It was listed as factory 1, I drove in but there wasn't any related signage.
So you think they are still operational as mail order?…..Live a Quiet Life & Work with your Hands

That used to be a great store. When I still lived in Melbourne I'd often be up there on a weekend to have a look around . I was just starting in turning then but when we moved in 2001 to the GC I sold all my equipment and it's taken this long to start back into it.

The business still exists, but said in another post, they are now mostly a Mail Order / Online Internet business. I bought some stuff their web site late in 2014. Their web site lists only phone numbers and email addresses - there doesn't seem to be a physical address listed on the Woodsmith web site, but Rustins web site still lists their address as 35 Lusher Road. Give them a ring - they may still sell over the counter to locals.
As someone else said, they may be still on holidays - if their answer machine has filled up with messages, that could result in their phone ringing out unanswered. The following is extracted from their web site:
We are now primarily a Mail Order businessThese two internet addresses may be useful if you don't already have them:
Most items we stock can be ordered online from our Website. www.thewoodsmith.com.au
The WOODSMITH Pty Ltd, CROYDON Victoria. Phone: (03) 9722 9663 Fax: (03) 9723 4544

on our answering service and we will return your call as soon as we can.

The address (factory 1- 35 Lusher Road) is still on their website, but you have to know where to look.
Since they became a mail order only business they have not been available for sale from their factory except on their infrequent open days for details of which you have to be on their email list.
Thus for locals you would be better of going to Pop's Shed who also stock Rustins danish oil and are open Mondays to Saturdays.

I highly recommend putting your name on their mailing list. Their open days are not frequent, but when they do have them make sure you take a bib as the timber they sell is well worth a drool
