My first woodworking
This is my first thing
I will call the thing I made for mummy a machine keeper.
image1.jpg
I cut it and I got some wood from all every where. Thats all

There was wood in the bin and from the floor and I found one more at the ground and I got one from the bucket and daddy cut it for me. Thats all
And I cut the small pieces with a saw by myself. Daddy showed me how. And I told him where I wanted the pieces and he drilled the holes for me. Thats all
I put the screw in but daddy had to help me. they were hard

I love your machine keeper Tyler.
I'll bet Mummy was really happy to get it.
It was nice of Dad to help out, too.
Keep up the good work.
(I only just found this thread.)... Steve

What's a shooting board?
I really like you because you said that everyone.
Mummy still got the machine keeper in her room.

A shooting board is used to trim the edge of a board. You hold the board along a edge that is 90 degrees to a hand plane. The hand plane is on it's side with the cutting edge exposed to the end grain of the board.
You now push the hand plane along the board and the smallest shaving are taken off. You continue until you get one complete shaving which indicated the board is now at 90 degrees to the edge that the board was originally pushed against.
You can also setup for other angles.
