Woodworking courses in Melbourne
I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a woodworking course in Melbourne? I'm a beginner and just want to take it up as a hobby. I guess I'm thinking of a 6 month course or longer which seeks to give me the basics and then perhaps go on to teach a little more. Any pointers?

I'm currently doing my 2nd year at TAFE at Holmesglen in Chadstone, and tbh, I'd advise against going to TAFE, cuts to funding have noticeably hobbled TAFE's ability to teach
try the Victorian Woodworkers Association or Melbourne School of Fine Woodworking who run short courses and probably have better teachers then TAFE

Try this link: https://www.woodworkforums.com/
Its like a woodworking university. You wont get through all the content you will find on that site in six centuries, let alone six months. Its got everything from the basics to the advanced and beyond in any type of woodworking you can think of. A lot of really talented people freely share their knowledge there and tuition fees are very reasonable.
Give it a try
Cheers

while Doug 3030 is right because I have got a heap of ideas from here, I think that for me it was very helpful to go to a school and see first hand how things are done.
I went to the Melbourne Guild of Fine Woodworking for a few terms which really set me up on my woodworking journey.
I can highly recommend this school.

Furniture making is really good well done, also as a tip get some extra cash on the side as you will have a choice to purchase the projects you've made I'm gutted that I didn't buy mine.

In joinery I did I ended up making a full sized buffet which later I sold to my sister, but that's the last project you'll do
