    Default woodworking with kids

I posted youtube videos of my students at Clear Spring School, and will have more coming at a later time.

It seems that here in the US, educators have nearly completely forgotten the value of woodworking with kids in schools. But fortunately many parents and grandparents are capable of introducing their children to the wonders of working with wood. Nothing to it but to do it. And please don't let your children grow up not knowing proper tool use, and the sense of empowerment that real creative work can offer.

    Hi Doug

You used to write some interesting articles for Woodwork Magazine and I was wondering what happened to it. Has it gone for ever?

Pity if it has. There are several great woodworking magazines but I thought that one was outstanding.

The stuff you are doing is great. It is so important that kids learn to use tools.

(the first video is still not working btw).
    Cheers, Glen

Woodwork was bought out by American Woodworker magazine and will have an annual issue coming out next month. They promise they will get back to a reasonable production schedule when the economy gets better. I and many others have our fingers crossed.
