Woodworking workshop for hire - Brisbane
G'day All,
I am a furniture designer-maker and have just relocated from Sydney to Brisbane. I am planning to open my commercial workshop in an industrial unit in Brendale, mid to late this year. I am looking at the option of renting the workshop to one other furniture maker/woodworker and I just wanted to gauge any interest.
The workshop will be approx 150 sq.m and to begin with will have the following machinery/facilities:
Full size panel saw
Thicknesser
Jointer
Bandsaw
Linisher
Router table
Drill press
Compressor and air lines
Dust extractors
Timber rack
I will be aiming to add to the machinery over time. I am looking to rent to a professional/experienced furniture maker/woodworker and my preference is to rent to one person, Monday to Friday, but will consider renting it for 2/3 days a week to two different woodworkers.
So please let me know of any interest and feel free to email me for more details.
Cheers,
Dave

Did this happen?
Hey, Dave - I know this post is 5 years old but did this workshop for hire end up happening? I'm needing access to a jointer to do some panels for a tabletop - my hand planing skills are woeful.

There’s a few other refo’s from Sydney who have ‘shops and hold classes in Brizzy.
Bob Howard, Richard Vaughan and Roy Schack.
Dunno about one off use of their kit but it’s worth a phone call.

I would never let anyone else use my machines, especially renting it out.
The cost to repair the machines is horrendously high if the operator made a simple error but try to force it in, and the liability if they hurt themselves.SCM L'Invincibile si X, SCM L'Invincibile S7, SCM TI 145EP, SCM Sandya Win 630, Masterwood OMB1V, Meber 600, Delta RJ42, Nederman S750, Chicago Pneumatics CPRS10500, Ceccato CDX12

No onw who is not set up to do so will allow you to use their machines or anything else in their workshop $20,000,000 insurance is very expensive, you may however find someone willing to do the job for a reasonable fee.

You might want to check out these guys.

They do let you use their machines for hourly fees. For some you need special induction and some will be operated by one of their carpenters.
I have used them before and they are really helpful.
