World's best sale
Drop eveything! Carbatec have dropped the price of the Jet 310 planer/thicknesser from $3324 to...wait for it...$3299!
That's a massive price reduction of 0.75%!!!! No not 75%, not even 7.5%. A whopping great 0.75%!!
With those sorts of savings you should pick yourself up a bandsaw while you're there.
Good job retailing isn't in trouble in this country.

Wow - a polemic stance from polemic.
But hey - $25 is $25.
Should cover the cost to get it home - shouldn't it?Can you imagine what I would do if I could do all I can? -- Sun Tzu

Wow 0.75% makes Lie Nielsen's bundles extremely good deals.
Buy 1 chisel for $70 but if you buy a set of 5 you pay $340. That is a massive 2.9% discount
Wait there is more. Buy 3 planes for $895 and save 3.5%
You would be stupid to buy just 1 chisel or just 1 plane.Visit my website at www.myFineWoodWork.com

In looking at a few web sites, I get the impression that the planer / thickness is being phased out. A couple of web sites list it as being out of stock.
When I was looking for my planer / thickness, the Euro style blade safety cover appeared to be (as Yanks would say) a PITA so I went with a Grizzly which also was about $1000 less.
BTW - The US price is listed at $2245 and $3365 with spherical head and Carbatec lists two bargains. The planer / thickness alone and WITHOUT the spherical head at $2399 and $3299 with the spherical cutter head. The exchange rate is $1.00AD to $0.97USD.

We are so lucky that it costs so much.
otherwise 0.75% (or .0075 of the cost) would amount to such a small amount the rounding would bring it back up to the original price anyway.

Do I detect an ounce of sarcasm in this thread?

So do they plan on going back up in price after the sale??
If they just said its a price drop and it was staying there we would have been happier and said nothing.
But as a sale price and to then have it go up after the sale!!

Maybe Carbatech have been listening to SWMBO who figures the discount is immaterial as long a it is a SALE.
"Oh honey I just stopped off at xyz and bought a few things because they were having a sale . . . . . "
