Ha-Ganna
Do any of you making shoji use ha-ganna? Des King mentions them in his book, and I wonder whether any who have to pay for their planes utilize them instead of saws and/or v-parting chisels.
If so, do you find them handy? It appears to me that the fence would inhibit their use since it seems you'd have to use them on one side and then flip for use; rather than working your way down the entire side of boards before flipping.

Hi Pam,
I also read about these in Des King's book. I do have a set of them, but haven't adjusted them properly. It looks like real effort. I will get back to you after the holidays on how well I can get them to work and how enjoyable they are to use.
