    Default A pair of kiwaggana

    I recently acquired my first skew rabbet planes. These are new, made by Hideki Komori, aogami steel.

    Komori Small Plane Factory | 越後与板打刃物

    I'm feeling my way through and going slowly setting them up. Stan Covington has helped me with detailed instructions but he notes that they are tricky to get right. If anyone else has tips for fettling these little guys please let me know. In particular, I think I need to open the mouths just a little bit, yes? I hesitate to do it for fear of going too far but I notice that thicker shavings do tend to get caught with the mouth opening as it is.
