Best saws for extremely hard woods?
Hey all,
Having just succeeded in snapping more than a few of the teeth on one of my el cheapo Japanese dozuki saws in the process of cutting off a 5cm x 2cm thick slice from the corner of a katalox board, i'm wondering if there are any (non custom) japanese saws particularly well suited to extremely hard woods such as katalox, or rosewoods and ebonies? Most of the easily available saws seem to have an extremely hard time with them from what i've seen of them in use.

I have found this saw from Tools from Japan that I got for our hardwoods has worked OK, so far. No broken teeth yet.
There is a trade off; the cut is not as smooth as a traditional J-saw.
There may be better options that I am not aware of.
