Default aligning axes/ printing to scale

Need some help with free SU 7. After unfolding a model to make a cutting pattern it no longer aligns with any axes. I found out how to align it but now the axes are not aligned with the ground plane (may not be important but it annoys me). It'd be nice to know how to fix this.
Anyway, I wished to print this to scale, so I set camera to parallel projection and zoom to extents and printed it in landscape, but it is not coming out correctly scaled. what am I doing wrong?

    Hi Mic-D,

What I did to solve the problem was open your file in Sketchup, then started an other session of Sketchup. Next I copied the component and pasted it on the origin of the axes in the second session of Sketchup.

Now it's easy to align the axes of your component to the axes of the Sketchup world.

If you set the camera to parallel projection and you choose a standard view you will be able to print to scale.

I hope I made myself clear if not let me know.

    i Mic,

axes are not correctly set. Point the mouse on an axis and right click to open the context menu. Click on Reset to reposition the axes.

For printing to full scale you take a look here and see if it helps.

Thanks Kayu, that worked for getting the model, axes and ground plane aligned

Thanks Luca, I used Kayu's method. I could reset the axes, but did not know a simple way to align the model to the axes, apart from manual rotation.
I looked at your link and can follow most of the instructions but not the uncheck 'fit to page', this is the problem I think. I'm using SU 8 actually, but on a Mac and the menus are not the same. I cannot find the 'fit to page' option anywhere

OK, I found the fit to page option in document setup. I can uncheck this but I don't understand how to set the print size and print scale options

I googled and found out how the document setup page should be used but I still cannot get it to print to scale - just prints on one page

Starting to lose my patience with this. I suspect there is a bug in the print section. I unselect fit to page, choose a value for print size larger than A4 eg 0.4 x 0.3 and select 0.03m in drawing is 0.03m in model ie 1:1 scale. The window tells me I need 4 pages, that's good the object should be 0.31m long by 0.21m high. I close the document setup window and select print preview. I get 4 pages, two blank and two with partial overlap of the same part of the image. Then when I close the preview window, my sketchup window is garbled and I cannot restore a view of the model. Below is the SU file of the garbled window I have no effing idea.

Edit HMMPH!, when download this file it works fine again!

Nope, can't get it to work. Where do I report a problem in sketchup?

No need to open a new SU session. You can just adjust the axes, delete the component and import it again form the Component Dialog Box.

The new file you posted is aligned on the blue axis but not on the red one. I had to rotate it a little. Keep the component vertical and set the front viewin Parallel Projection. Set the SketchUp window as I did in the attached pic, it comes with 3 sheets. You could have the toolbar disordered after that. With SU8 you can restore it from View - Toolbar.

See if it works this way.

    Hi Luca,
I realigned the model. Tried again using page setup as portrait and all other settings as previously outlined. Print preview shows 2 pages, first page is left part of the model, second page shows just part of the left part of the model and there is no right part. When I exit out of print preview the sketchup window is corrupted and all axes are squashed flat on the ground plane. The tool bar is fine though. I think there is a bug in it. I am using a Mac, not a PC.
I will just take off the measurements of the model and manually draw it today. Too much time and frustration already spent. I would like to know how to report a bug though.
    Thanks for your help!
