Default Please help Print to Scale to PDF to take to printers

    Hi all,
I tried to take a snap of my Wood Star Mosaic.
And took it to Officeworks and asked them to print as 24" x 36"
where the kerf between lines would be 3mm.

I think they just printed at 24 x 36 for the whole sheet and not my model.

I've now got my model setup as 3mm kerf between lines
And close enough to 24" x 36" width and height.

Anyone know how to print to scale keeping the kerf between lines at 3mm
    to pdf

Hoping to take the pdf to a professional printers and have them print it.

    with really thin lines.
And not squiggly lines as Officeworks came out.

    tia

    What program you using?
Unless your using a CAD program you will have trouble getting an accurate print.

Should have mentioned I'm using Sketchup on iMac with latest OS X.
I have an family friend who is an architect that has the latest version of sketchup at all times.
Since I use Sketchup I'd like to be able to discuss with him about sketchup if need be.

I don't like pulling the friendship card during business hours since he's running a serious business.
And I'm just a hobbiest. So happy to pay his company a nominal amount for them to do specific things.
    Other times I use AirTasker.

I understand Sketchup is a CAD program.
Unless you mean a serious / professional CAD program.

    Blast!

"... The best way to do this is to use LayOut. That’s right up its alley. ..."
    LOL!
" …quite lieterally, the reason the LayOut was created! ..."
    And
"... It’s a good point that basically this is exactly what Layout is designed for! However as John said, $700 is expensive to do some one time drawings for a planning application. ..."

    DOH!
"... Instead, it’s a tricky faff even to print to scale at all in Make, and apparently impossible in Free. A pity. ..."

    Saw that.
Could have sworn it read like it was for LayOut.

    Looks like A0

Metric name............. Size in mm (cm)......................Size in inches
    A0 size.................841 x 1188 mm (84 x 119).............33-1/8 x 46-3/4 in
    A1 size.................594 x 841 mm (60 x 84).................23-3/8 x 33-1/8 in

OK I've mucked about with it so much.

    I think its right.

    I've set up a page for 24"x36"
the sketchup document is just under that
so set the document to fit to 23"x36" by selecting the "fit to page"

I can save that as a pdf and the pdf document properties show page size as 24 x 36 in

So I should be able to take the document to a printers and ask them to print the document to scale.

    Jeez!
what a bunch of mucking about!

I think the menu option for "page setup ..."
should be "select or create printer page size ..."
    Thanks,

Or "stuffup" should get its act together and act like a real cad program with 2 very critical settings ie: page size and scale ratio eg: A3 paper scale 1:100

    Successful!
So much easier if I sort it out before taking it down to ask them to just print to scale.
And NOT taking a snap and asking them to scale.

    Difference is amazing!

And would be cheaper if the project were slightly smaller set to A1.

I think they are there but not easy to find.
Especially if this task of print to scale is not my thing.
Even more so if on OSX instead of windows.
