    Default BA Falcon Door Actuators

I have an 04 BA Falcon - it's the pauper pack base model.
I can lock it with the key but lifting the door handle on the front passenger or rear drivers door unlocks it - so obviously the actuators are stuffed which I hear is a common fault with the BA.

The actuators will cost me about $100 off ebay - being a pensioner I have about a thousand other things I could spend that $100 on.
I live alone, I drive alone so not being able to open those doors from the outside wouldn't bother me.

Legalities aside, could I just disconnect the outer door handle on those two doors or will it throw up other faults?

It’s Been awhile since I was Paid, too work on cars 15 plus years,
But disconnect the activator, wind down the window, so your not locked out.
An see what happens, I think you should be ok.
But I was Panel Beater an if car wiring got complicated we called in a Auto electrician.

    Cheers Matt.

Join the ford forums, Australian Ford Forums - Powered by vBulletin some one will know the answer, it is most likely just one door that is the cause, if you car is insured and it is stolen or entered and items stolen don't bother making a claim, it will be the first thing the assessor will check.

    Default Door locks

I've had the problem that the lock cycles but will not lock the door when the remote is pressed. There is a gear inside that drives a course threaded shaft, this breaks. $180 for genuine lock, if you look on ebay search for
"Door Lock Actuator Cog Gears for Ford Falcon BA BF", link below has 4 for $20. Just need a bit of time, make sure to take a pic to get the spacers back in the correct place.
