indicator problem
Have a 2005 N15 Nissan Pulsar.
Having a problem with the indicator. Occasionally it will blink rapidly like it has a blown bulb and the front left indicator light will not work. Sometimes is will spontaneously correct itself. I've removed the bulb from the front left indicator and both filaments in the globe are intact. Hazards work no problems. What part of the system should I look at first ?

Two filaments? I haven't worked on cars for a while. The fact that it's confined to one indicator means that the other components are probably ok and it is the bulb or holder. Do you have a meter to check the filament/s? They can look intact but be blown. I'd just replace it anyway and see if that fixes it.
Also check the wire connection to the globe holder. One of the wires may be loose or it is not getting a good earth (negative) through the holder body. Those were the droids I was looking for.

In the past I have had intermittent issues with bulbs do to wear on the solder contacts on the base. Look at them and check for indents or flats on them. I have successfully restored faulty ones with a new solder spot to tide me over till I can replace them.
Also look to the brass contact pins in the bulb holder, they can get develop a barrier layer if they get dust and moisture on them. Can normally be cleaned up by polishing with a plastic eraser on the end of pencils. Check also for any rust stains etc at the same time. May not cause problem themselves but they indicate pressence of moisture.I used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.

Modern car electrics are nearly impossible to fix by us amateurs unless it is right at the end of the system such as a bulb or holder. Most of them are two wire CANBUS controlled and if the loom is not in perfect condition you have problems. Has it been in a smash? If it has panel beaters do some weird things to cars. My son specialises in Auto electronics and panel beaters are his worst nightmare.

Did you check the indicator fluid level? It may need a top up.
