Ian, Beaufort is about 160km from Melbourne and you don't have to travel real slow to be overtaken by a B double!

true, but it's considerably more challenging (for the B-Double driver) when there's only one lane in the direction of travel
the point was to calculate Hans's average speed and if the elasped time was 22 hours 160km out of Melbourne, then his average speed is well under 65km/h, suggesting a free flow speed not much more than 70km/hregards from Alberta, Canada

Ern: Yes I am aware that the CR-V is designed to run on 91 octane and I have always used that. After doing some reading I decided to give the 95 a go.As it happens the cost per kilometre is line ball. The big advantage , for me is having those extra kilometres in the tank with the 95.
Ian: after my post I had second look at the video. I picked up the overtaking by the B double and was closely watching the background (and other things such as time between a given number of fenceposts)
I found it easy to focus on the background trees so his speed was not all that brilliant.
I came to a simlar conclusion to you - probably he was doing about 70 clicks. Hardly real world motoring but it shows what a light foot can do.
