New mitsubshi 4x4
After 12 years the Pajero will go, has served me well, 240000 ks without any problems, just regular service. Couldn't go past a Mitsubishi for the new one, something smaller 2.4L petrol Outlander , pick up on Tuesday arvo, off to Sydney Wednesday morning for 5 nights then down to Merimbula and back thru Lakes Entrance. Should be a good run in trip. cheers John

Old man killed 2 and another is still going
1 x 3ltr Petrol approx 350,000 (Back end started to loosen up)
1 x 2.4ltr Turbo Diesel over 400,000kays
1 x 3ltr turbo Diesel Over 200,000 still going I think.
He is a rep so has driven all over WA, and on some trips he would visit every mine site in WA, about 4 weeks non stop and 15,000 kays.
A couple of the sites he would line up and get the oil & filters changed whilst there.
Only issue was with the late model one. Had some issues with the electronic diff.

When the current Forester needs turning over I'll be looking maybe at a twin-cab diesel ute and the Triton ticks a lot of boxes.
It'd be a rougher rider given the leaf springs but will get us into rougher territory towing the camper trailer.
My nephew is a tradie and he's down on the Triton; has just gone for a Mazda BT-50 so that'll need checking out too.Cheers, Ern

The mitsubishi's are a mixed bag.
I had a TP Maga which while being wonderfully comfortable couldn't keep timing chains in the thing, but I had an 81 Sigma that I couldn't kill with a sledge hammer.

Cant beat a Nissan.
Got a Navara crew cab 2.4 DOHC 2001 model, 345000 k's, still got original clutch, uni's, only thing ever replaced other than service items was a perished hose under the injector manifold. Still doesn't use oil.
Have heard nothing but good about the latest batch of Navaras'.The person who never made a mistake never made anything
Cheers

Glad we cleared that up. Seems I should be on the lookout for a Nissubazda Diesel......but there don't seem to be many secondhand ones out there
Disclaimer: I currently drive a petrol Rodeo 3.2 V6. It drinks like a fish.

LOL.
...
Re Nissans, if you're a brand whore, take care and research the 3l turbo diesel.
Re the BT-50, thanks for the heads-up.
I never buy Mark 1 anyway.Cheers, Ern
