    Default Overhead DVD player.

When I purchased a Mitsubishi Pajero 4WD it had an overhead, flip down DVD
player which incorporated a reversing camera.

I took it to my auto electrician to have my reversing lights repaired but when I got
it back the monitor on the DVD player/reversing camera no longer worked.
I checked it out with him but he claimed that nothing he had done would have
contributed to the problem. This is strange because the reverse gear must be
engaged to activate the reversing camera and the reversing lights.

Subsequent visits to other auto electricians have proven worthless as no one
even wants to look at it.
In the interests of safety I would like to have the monitor working and wonder
if anyone knows a reliable and willing "expert" to have a look at it.

Sounds a little bit suss to me. What did he say was the problem with the reversing lights? The monitor probably has a connection to the reversing light switch to turn the reversing camera on so there is a posibility it could be related. If you were in wa i'd have a look for you, i'm not an auto electrician but an electronics technican.

Hmmm, Wallan to Caversham ... probably a bit too far to give
    you a look at it.

When turning it on all it does is give a flicker of light and that's it.
The auto elec said the screen must be faulty but it worked perfectly
until he played around with the reversing lights.

Not sure what he found wrong with the lights but they now work.

    Thanks,

    Allan
